Rebecca Maxwell

Rebecca Maxwell marries her passion for food and photography in her images of the Union Square’s Greenmarket produce as it shifts and changes over the seasons. Fruits, vegetables, flowers, and more become the focus of her camera’s lens. In addition to her passion for photographing the seasons through the change in Greenmarket produce, Maxwell photographs people, capturing their “essence” in unposed portraits, sometimes fusing two faces; as in generations of a family, or two friends as symbolic of a life of friendship.

Maxwell received her B.A. in Photography from Dartmouth College and her Masters from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. She has been included in several group shows, at the Jaffe-Freide Strauss Gallery and at AREA Student Art Gallery at Dartmouth College and is included in the collection of Dartmouth College as well as in several New York private collections.
